A Room with a View invites the viewer to perceive a landscape. Playing with the cinematic idea of framing and of immersion in time and space, the installation parallels and investigates the borders between reality and illusion.
By expanding the movement into multidimensional space the work emphasises the active role of the viewer. Through a horizontal, physical flow of images the perceived landscape slowly appears and disappears in 360° around the viewer, whose illusion is actively broken by the architecture of the room: the image portraying the landscape is only a reflection on the wall.
The 2015 installation is a version of a work originally created in 2008.
