Communication is part of a series titled Zoo in the City: a series that consists of various performance scores dealing with the urban human/animal relationship. These scores were created in and proposed for the city of Antwerp - one of the most multicultural cities in Europe.

The piece, dealing with the various layers of communication, consists of observing a dog in a city and taking part in the invisible conversation revealed by him/her. By spraying fresh human urine to the places the dog sees "worthy" of marking, the human conversationalist tries to enter the conversation, knowingly questioning the limits of language.
