Sound installation

The installation investigates the spatiality of sound from the perspective of movement by creating an auditive space and a situation where a loudspeaker physically moves around the perceiver.
Commenting especially on the idea of surround sound – a technique based on the amount and placement of loudspeakers, with the ability to create an illusion of movement – the work investigates the borders between perception and reality. No matter how elaborate the surround system technique may be, it is still based on static objects as there is a physical gap between the separate elements. In physical reality the perception of movement happens in the mind of the listener.
Surround System is the first part of a series titled Lossless, an ongoing project comprised of art works based on sound.
